Summary

Job Title: Children’s Home Team Leader
Salary: £26,000 per year, additional Sleep-Ins £60 per night
Location: Burton upon Trent, DE13
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours a week
Social Care & Education are looking to hire a motivated and empathic Children Home Team Leader. You will be expected to support the emotional and physical needs of all the children within the home, ensuring you provide comfort and care at all times.
As a Team Leader, your main duties will be to:
• Provide high quality care services that support the needs of children and young people
• Be an advocate for their well-being
• Provide strong, motivational leadership to the team.
• Be responsible for safeguarding and promoting individual rights
• Provide good quality care, which is free from oppression and where differences are respected and valued.
• Provide high-quality support to children and young people with emotional, mental health, and behavioural issues.

• Implement care plans and risk assessments, ensuring the well-being of each individual.

• Maintain a good level of spoken and written English to effectively communicate with individuals, families, and team members.

• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies related to children and young people's care.

• Assist in leadership and management of the home, ensuring a safe and supportive environment
• Support staff development and training, providing guidance and feedback.
• Participate with new admission procedures for new residents.


To be a Team Leader, we require you to have:
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
• Training certificates in First Aid, Food Hygiene, Fire Safety, Child Protection and Behavior Management.
• Full Driving Licence
• Effective Leadership (12 months experience) in a similar role and environment
• Working alongside multi-agencies (e.g. Social Worker)
• Excellent IT skills- able to use outlook, word and excel
• Thorough knowledge of children legislations and safeguarding procedures.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with young people, families and professionals

• A compassionate and caring nature with a genuine desire to make a difference.

• Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and evenings as required.
