Summary
Maintenance of the highest standards in the care of patients with gastroenterology conditions. To share with colleagues responsibility for the day to day management of our Gastroenterology Department. To have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing professional development (CPD). Flexibility of duties is expected i.e. assisting with emergency endoscopy. The post holders may also contribute to the out of hours endoscopy rota. The post holder will provide service work to maintain either endoscopy and/or clinic waits to comply with national and local targets. The post holders will support consultants with the provision of inpatient care to patients on the gastroenterology ward and other acute medical areas where required. Where appropriate to participate in the development of research within the service. To Facilitate teaching and training within the department. Participation and involvement in clinical governance, quality improvement and other business in Gastroenterology and Endoscopy department.
