Summary

My Tier 1 Main Contractor client is seeking an experienced Design Manager / Senior Design Manager to join their dynamic team in London. The successful candidates will play a pivotal role in overseeing a series of exciting education/school projects in London. With multiple opportunities available, we welcome applications from individuals with varying levels of experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design management process from tender through to project completion.
  • Coordinate and manage design teams, ensuring timely delivery of design packages.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets, schedules, and resources.
  • Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance to the project team.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Identify and mitigate design risks, providing solutions to design-related issues.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across all project participants.
  • Prepare and present design reports, progress updates, and documentation.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in design management within the construction industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects from tender to completion.
  • Strong understanding of design processes, construction methodologies, and project management principles.
  • Education sector experience is highly desired; however, candidates with all-rounder experience will also be considered.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Relevant qualifications in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
