Summary


This is an exciting opportunity to join our Renal DialysisUnit in Westmorland General Hospital in Kendal.

We are a satellite unit located in South Cumbria, one of six satellite units off the main dialysis unit at Royal Preston Hospital.

Our unit offers in centre haemodialysis for up to 14 patients per session. Following a recent and extensive refurbishment, we are delighted to now have the home therapy team and training room within the unit, plus new clinic rooms, allowing for an improved patient experience and joined up service.

We love making a difference and working together to gain the rewards of making a patients journey enjoyable and successful. To do this, we are looking for a staff nurse to join us. We are looking for a caring, highly motivated individual, committed to providing excellent care for our dialysis patients. As a nurse led unit, we are seeking someone who can use their initiative, has excellent communication skills, and crucially can work well within a team and the wider MDT. Ideally the postholder will have current relevant post registration experience working within the renal specialty.

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care to meet patients’ needs in accordance with agreed local and national standards and evidence-based guidelines.
• Support and provide patient education and health promotion.
• Be responsible for the delivery and co-ordination of holistic care, through appropriate professional practice, delegation and supervision of duties carried out by junior staff.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of all care activities, in a timely manner, adhering to local and professional standards for documentation.
• Ensures environment of care is safe, well equipped, and compliant with standards for hygiene and cleanliness.
• Act as a role model, presenting a positive image of self, team, and the organisation.
