About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Biology Technician to join our Biology Department at Edge Hill University, the Biology department is continuing to grow year on year and with the opening of our new Life Science building this will be an exciting opportunity to join the department and the successful candidate will be vital within this. Alongside this there is a variety of opportunities for you to develop, with a department that is committed to the development of its staff.

This role will be supporting teaching and research with ensuring the laboratories are well stocked, clean and in a safe operational condition for staff and students. You will also maintain, operate, and teach staff and students in scientific equipment, whilst also providing support in teaching and research in fieldwork which may include residential field trips.

About You

As Biology Technician you will have the following:

Experience working in the Higher Education Sector laboratory
Knowledge and experience of skills used in more than one of the following Biochemistry, Biomedicine, Ecology or Genetics.
Excellent understanding of health and safety standards in a laboratory
Experience of servicing and maintaining laboratory equipment
Biology Degree or a related discipline
