An opportunity to join an experienced, versatile team, delivering first-class services to our world-class Armed Forces personnel.

Position Overview

Based at HMS Raleigh, Torpoint, Cornwall, working primarily in a storeroom environment, the post holder will be a versatile customer focused Stores Operative, with the drive to provide a first-class service to the Armed Forces. The incumbent will be versatile in controlling stored items to ensure optimum availability to the military community on site. Training can be provided, where appropriate.

Main Responsibilities

-Demand, Issue and Exchange of specialist stores and clothing.

-Unloading deliveries from vehicles, unpackaging goods and replenishing stock.

-Develop and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders, promoting customer service excellence.

-Actively adhere to a safe working culture and adhere to the Health and Safety procedures, processes, and the law.

-Undertake any additional tasks as determined by the Line Manager, including leading on change to meet the emerging needs of the business.

What we are looking for

The successful candidate is required to be well-organised, precise, confident with credible communication skills readily able and willing to contribute at all levels. In addition, the individual will be versatile, intuitive, and professional with good judgement and absolute integrity. Proactive and persuasive when required and responsive to changing needs of the business and demands of the customer, while remaining calm under pressure and self-motivated, the incumbent will be reliable and well presented, giving a positive image of MITIE company values. In addition, the following is needed:

-Proven experience of working in a warehouse/store's environment.

-IT literate with a good working knowledge of MS Office applications.

-Proven track record of delivering quality with customer-facing service and experience.

-Ability to adapt to short notice changes to requirements and deadlines.

-Good standard of education, preferably grade C or equivalent in English and Mathematics.

-Occasional local travel to work at other sites to provide absence cover as necessary.

-Conversant/knowledge of MOD Management of the Joint Deployed Inventory (MJDI) stores accounting applications (Desirable, training can be provided)

-Holds a Full UK Driving Licence (Desirable) and Forklift Licence (Forklift training can be provided)

Additional Information

MOD security clearance and DBS Standard required. To meet national security vetting requirements, you will normally need to have been resident in the UK for at least 3 years to gain a Counter Terrorist Check, 5 years for Security Clearance and 10 years for Developed Vetting prior to the date of application. All Developed Vetted posts are required to be UK Nationals.

Proof of right to work in UK essential.

The Contract operates a 37.5 hour working week between the hours of 0730 and 1700 Mon to Fri only.

Required to wear approved company work wear.
