The main purpose of this role is to support Factory International’s Artistic Director and Creative Director in delivery of curatorial plans and processes. To support the Executive Assistant to Artistic Director/Creative Director in planning and delivery of their diaries, travel, event-planning and presentations.
The key responsibilities for the Artistic Assistant include;
- Provide excellent administrative support to the Artistic Director and Creative Director, working in tandem with the Executive Assistant
- Responsible for creating presentations for conferences and other events, including the development and design of visual materials to effectively communicate key messages and support the artistic vision
- Administrative support for Curatorial and Programme Update meetings, preparing agendas, briefs, minutes and actions and administrating key processes to support the Curatorial workstream, artists and Artistic Director and Creative Director
- Primary contact for creatives in early stages of projects and ongoing support to the development and maintenance of artist contact and relationships, including maintenance of stakeholder guest lists for events and their travel and accommodation requests
- Manage incoming artistic proposals, in close consultation with Artistic Director and Creative Director and supporting the Executive Assistant in responding to other enquiries
- Undertake research on behalf of the Artistic Director and Creative Director into artists, agents, organisations, events and stakeholders, and prepare materials, papers and presentations to a high standard
- Coordination and administration of domestic and international travel for Creative Director, and to attend to urgent travel matters outside of working hours
- Working in tandem with Executive Support team to contribute to departmental objectives in an efficient way
- Administrative tasks to provide wider support to Artistic Director/Creative Director, International, Producing, Curatorial and wider Executive Support teams as and when required
The person specification for the Artistic Assistant are;
ESSENTIAL
- Experience with administrative support or similar work
- Flexible and adaptable working style
- A proactive problem solver
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate around confidential items with discretion
- Excellent written communication skills with professional tone
- Good IT skills, including good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the confidence in using data and planning software
- Able to work seamlessly as part of a team with a highly collaborative approach
- Experience or interest in supporting a wide range of artistic practice
- Commitment to championing representation and inclusion at every level of the organisation with a proven ability to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds
DESIRABLE
- Enthusiasm for training, mentoring and support of emerging talent
