Summary

A Vacancy at Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust.


To provide nursing care and support to women and their families under the speciality care of gynaecology

To assess patients presenting as an emergency and ensure escalation to the right clinician

To deliver harm free care and ensure inpatients have care planned with them at the centre

To give support and signposting to patients suffering early pregnancy loss

To support the senior nursing team by giving assurance around mandatory training, information governance and attendance.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, hardworking team player with a passion for delivering high standard care to women and support to their families.

Our service includes emergency gynaecology inpatient services, early pregnancy assessment unit, elective gynaecology services and Gynaecology assessment unit. You would work within all these areas and may benefit from exposure to our endoscopy and outpatient services too in order to support your development and increase your skill set.

There is potential for development into specialised areas.

You will be a Qualified Nurse who can demonstrate extensive nursing experience along with gynaecology experience. As we have student nurses within our department experience of mentorship would be beneficial.

The ability to adapt to a demanding and changing environment and the ability to work with people under pressure is essential as well as being an independent practitioner.

You must be able to demonstrate the Trust values of Continuous Improvement, Respect, Accountability and Patient and Customer Focus.

1. Using your clinical experience and skills you will be responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of programmes of care, both for a specific group of patients as the named care provider and in supporting the care of all patients on the ward / unit
2. You will assist in the management and organisation of work, as required, ensuring effective communication is maintained at all times and will provide support for junior staff on the ward (newly qualified staff will receive initial support)
3. You will play a key role in the education, development, mentorship and supervision and assessment of all learners and unregistered staff
4. You will undertake nursing interventions consistent with evidence based practice, transferring and applying knowledge and skills to meet patients’ needs
5. Be able to work collaboratively with all members of the MDT (Multi-Disciplinary Team) and to make referrals as appropriate
6. To provide support and care for the patient and his/her family respecting their need for privacy and dignity
7. To monitor the effectiveness of nursing care and adjust the programmes of care where indicated
8. To utilise highly developed clinical skills specific to speciality
9. You will practice in accordance with the professional, ethical and legal framework for nursing

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as an Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months. Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.
