Summary

1. The Band 6 Respiratory Physiotherapist supports the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Lead within the locality area to plan, co-ordinate, deliver and evaluate a high quality, evidence based Pulmonary Rehabilitation and respiratory physiotherapy service for respiratory patients in North West Surrey. 2. To have responsibility for providing pulmonary rehabilitation sessions, both face to face and virtually for patients with respiratory conditions across North West Surrey. 3. To contribute to the overall planning, strategic development, and evaluation of the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Service in conjunction with other clinical staff. 4. To undertake comprehensive physiotherapeutic assessments and to plan and execute treatment of patients with chronic respiratory problems in outpatient, clinic and community settings. These patients may have complex needs, both physical and emotional, including co-morbidities and may be at any stage of the disease process, including end stage. 5. To take an active role in the supervision and teaching of junior physiotherapists, nurses and other members of the multidisciplinary team across the Trust. 6. To be responsible as an autonomous practitioner to undertake a specialist clinical caseload, to include both group and individual assessment, rehabilitation, and treatment. 7. To work with and be an active member of the Respiratory Care Team to support as needed community clinics, home visits, Ambulatory Oxygen prescription, admission avoidance and post discharge work. 8. To participate actively in evaluating the quality and effectiveness of care delivered and make recommendations for changes. 9. To undertake evidence-based projects, including recommendations for change in practice and to lead where appropriate in departmental evaluation/research.
