Summary

University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust (UHD) is looking for an exceptional Chief Digital Officer (CDO) to join our ambitious Board and help achieve our vision of providing excellent healthcare for our patients and wider community and be a great place to work, now and for future generations. Our CDO will lead the Digital and IT Strategy, providing the foundations to ensurethat our vision, direction and clinical strategy is fully enabled by digital change and innovation.

We have an exciting future ahead as we work to Transform Care Together. This year sees us embedding our Patient First methodology and investing in significant energy reduction to achieve our target of 80% decarbonisation by 2030. Next year we will be opening the BEACH building, creating a major emergency care hospital; and by 2026 we will have created the largest planned care hospital in England and embedded an electronic health record across the whole of Dorset and into Somerset. Against this backdrop, there is no better time to join us.

None of this can be achieved in isolation - we work best when we work collaboratively, both outside the Trust with partners from other health and care organisations across our Dorset ICB, and internally with our 10,000+ committed and fabulous colleagues. Our new CDO will need to bring diversity of thought and demonstrate a clear commitment to our values and purpose. In terms of specific skills, we are keen to bring in someone who can demonstrate a track record of digital transformation alongside practical experience with implementation of EPR/EHR solutions.

If you would like to have an initial conversation, please contact our recruitment partner, Brendan Davies, at Hunter Healthcare on 07585 356985 or by email at bdavies@hunter-healthcare.com

Our values define who we are as #TeamUHD. They underpin everything we do now and in the future. They define how we treat our patients, visitors, and each other, our valued teammates and colleagues.

UHD are investing in services across the Trust, with many being transformed and developed following merger and the New Hospital Programme.

This means that some services may move site this year or next, either temporarily or long term. Recruiting Managers interviewing for this role will be happy to answer any specific questions that you have about this at interview.

To understand the role in more detail please read the full job description and person specification documents which are attached to this advert
