Summary

Due to the continued growth of the adopted Highway network within Darlington it is necessary to expand our current team of Highway Inspectors.

The purpose of the role is to carry out Highway inspections to identify areas requiring works, liaise with utility companies and members of the public in Highway related matters.

andnbsp;

Although previous experience as a Highway Inspector is desirable it is not essential as training will be provided.

andnbsp;

You should have approximately 3 yearsandrsquo; experience in the construction industry including an understanding of Highway Maintenance techniques including reinstatements.

andnbsp;

You will also have knowledge and experience of Health and Safety working on the Highway.



Additional Information Related to this Role

andnbsp;

You would be part of a friendly and supportive team of 5 inspectors including the Senior Highways Inspector, each with their own area to manage.

andnbsp;

The vast majority of our responsive maintenance repairs are carried out in house and managed by the construction team.

andnbsp;

A van carrying all necessary equipment to enable you to carry out your duties will be provided, this will remain at our depot at the end of each day.

andnbsp;

Management of winter gritting does not form part of the Highways Inspectors role, this is managed and carried out separately but you can apply for a position to carry out winter gritting, as and when they become available, if you wish to do so.

Highways Inspectors are not on call as part of their role, any out of hours issues are dealt with separately to make them safe, you may need to follow up with further works during your normal working day.
