Summary

Duties of this role will include:
1. Participating in all aspects of business administrative duties, including processing documents (both paper and e-documents), filing and records maintenance.
2. Working, initially, with appropriate guidance and support but leading to working independently with minimal direction.
3. Ensuring and maintaining confidentiality and always acting with discretion.
4. Ensuring effective and professional communication across a range of platforms:
a. face to face with both colleagues and clients,
b. answering the phone and handling telephone calls,
c. email and letter writing.
5. Responding to all enquiries and ensuring they are dealt with in a timely manner.
6. Supporting colleagues and clients in meeting the variety of deadlines associated with the accountancy profession such as: tax return deadlines, account filing deadlines and payment deadlines.
7. Putting in place your own systems to ensure that:
a. you manage your own workflow effectively,
b. less frequent processes are not overlooked e.g. monthly and/or annual tasks.
8. Working confidently with a wide range of different software/databases and with an appetite to learn new skills.
9. Consistently ensuring accuracy of all personal data held in our systems.
10. Awareness and implementation of the requirements of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legislation.
11. Awareness and implementation of the requirements of the Money Laundering Act (MLA) legislation.
12. Any other duties as directed.

Training
• 1 day per week at college plus training on the job


Qualifications required
Ideally, we would like you to have:
• English and Maths GCSEs at Grade 5 (or above)


Skills required
Essential skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent numeracy.
• Strong IT skills with a desire to broaden those skills and adapt to new tasks and challenges.
• Able to answer the phone and field enquiries in a professional and articulate way.
