Summary
RECEPTIONIST
One Ashford Hospital, part of the Phoenix Hospital Group, based in Ashford, Kent, is looking for a confident, enthusiastic Receptionist with excellent communication skills.
Reporting to the Senior Receptionist, the successful applicant will be patient focused with exceptional customer service and communication skills, both over the telephone and face to face.
You will provide an efficient, courteous, welcoming service to accommodate the needs of all patients and visitors to the hospital.
The role will involve:
o Welcoming all patients & visitors in a warm & friendly manner, ensuring an excellent patient experience throughout
o Using the computer system to confirm and amend patients registration details;
o Admissions, discharges, charging and processing of patient payments;
o Supporting the admin team when required;
o Working collaboratively with other departments to deliver an outstanding service.
HOURS: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday, occasional Saturday shifts as required.
SHIFTS: will cover 06:00 to 14:00 and 12:00 to 20:00 on a rotational basis.
You will learn both the receptionists role and the administrative role as a key member of the front of house team.

QUALIFICATIONS
o Minimum GCSE education or equivalent
EXPERIENCE
o Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
o Two years relevant experience within a customer facing role preferably within a healthcare setting.
SKILLS
o Demonstrable customer service skills and patient awareness
o Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
o Flexible attitude and approach to the role
o Good computer skills, including Word and Excel
o To be tactful, diplomatic and remain calm under pressure
o Ability to work as a team member and at a fast pace
DESIRABLES
o Previous private healthcare experience
o Previous reception/switchboard experience

One Ashford is next door to the William Harvey Hospital and is close to junction 10 of the M20. Parking is available and is ideally located for candidates living in and around the Ashford area.
