We'd love to hear from you if you are dynamic, committed and like to think outside of the box. Our diabetes team is going from strength to strength, working together to transform the way we deliver care you our children and young people living with diabetes. With the support of the current MDT you will be bring your ideas to help us to be as accessible as possible to our patients.

You will be a Senior PDSN with a genuine interest in the care of patients with diabetes. We will support you to undertake the appropriate training, which upon completion will enable you to progress to a PDSN role.

We will support your development when you join our team which will be led by a cross site Matron. You will be based at Frimley Park Hospital, but part of a wider nursing team which gives greater opportunities to learn and develop.
• To take the leading role in the advanced assessment, treatment, and management of children with diabetes within inpatients and outpatients.
• To act as a clinical lead for the Paediatric diabetes services
• To review and educate all children and young people
• To develop comprehensive care plans for CYP
• To be highly skilled in the advanced clinical assessment and advanced management of CYP with diabetes
• To provide advanced information, education, advice, and support to the CYP, parents, ward staff and schools.
• Working in a demanding environment, the successful applicant will be required to:
• Lead on a designated clinic and independently manage a case load of CYPs.
• Use excellent communication skills.
• Have advanced and extensive knowledge and clinical skills to manage CYP with diabetes, aetiology, and treatment.
• Have experience of working autonomously and as a member of the nursing team/MDT
• Be confident and competent in their role and have a willingness to develop their skills.
• Have excellent organisational, prioritisation and problem-solving skills.
• Have the experience and expertise of supporting and teaching ward staff, families, and other professionals such as schools
• Have the ability to work flexibly and manage change in a positive and effective way.
• Demonstrate resilience with a fast paced and unpredictable workload.
• Lead in quality improvement projects involving audits
• Manage junior staff
• Hold strong leadership and management skills
