We are seeking to appoint an individual who understands the power of data and who can hit the ground running with their skills and experience in Business Intelligence.
This is an exciting time to join the Performance and Business Intelligence Team and to support the implementation of the Council’s strategic Vision for 2024. We are involved in a wide variety of interesting projects to help transform the way the Council operates and you’ll be able to develop your skills in a supportive and friendly team.
You will be supporting a range of Council services, using data from schools and education to adults social care and through the completion of statutory returns to government. You’ll have the opportunity to use and develop dashboards using Power BI and other data visualisation tools and get involved in the varied work of the team, all of which supports our commitment to transparency through the publication of Open Data and information about how the Council is performing.
The main duties of the role include:
• Working as part of a wider team of support service colleagues to deliver new systems and processes that improve the way in which the Council’s services work and its systems operate and managing a subset of this team to deliver the Business Intelligence requirements.
• Actively check the quality of data and where concerns are identified to proactively take steps to make improvements or to recommend solutions to improve data quality.
• Actively promote self-service options and contribute towards reducing the demand for standard management information reports.
• Ensure that information is accurate, timely and presented in a way that is accessible and easy to understand, and that raw data is analysed and reports contain sufficient and appropriate narrative so conclusions can be easily drawn from the information presented.
You would be expected to maintain high standards of customer care in the context of the Council’s Core Values, to uphold the Equality and Diversity Policy and to participate in training activities necessary to this post.
