Summary

Deployment Planning Responsibilities
  • Developing robust deployment plans, ensuring that new recruitment into DWP is delivered on time to the appropriate business area.
  • Developing and implementing plans for redeployment of existing DWP people as demand changes across businesses (including the impact of network changes).
  • Working closely with multiple stakeholders, building effective and trusting relationships with those colleagues to ensure plans are delivered.
  • Leading the team to ensure efficient use of the resources in the team, and ensuring plans and all team activities are carried out accurately and at pace in line with deadlines.
  • Building the planning capability within the team and leading the team in a supportive and inclusive way to build an engaged and capable planning team.
  • Leading for service Delivery on the business impacting of future Estate Strategy
  • Identifying risks to plans and service delivery, seeking to mitigate risks and escalating where appropriate to forums/stakeholders.

Flexible Resource Team Responsibilities

  • Leading a team of approximately 500 colleagues in a complex, fast paced operational environment across Service Centres in Midlands and the North of England, with responsibility for collaboration with our Belfast delivery service. There is an expectation of being a visible leader on site.
  • Leading the sites through delivering multiple changing workstreams depending on DWP demand. For example, the sites have delivered Universal Credit, Winter Fuel, Disability Living Allowance – Child, Severe Disability Premium and Pension Credit in the last 6 months. An agile approach is necessary to ensure service delivery standards are met.
  • Demonstrating visible leadership through a commitment to people engagement and empowering others to develop. Establishing a culture of continuous improvement through remote line management across multiple sites.
  • Co-ordinating and leading conversations with multiple product areas and senior leaders in those work streams at one time. This will include importing of new work streams and landing the new workstream safely.
  • Providing inspirational and resourceful leadership to make a strong personal impact and drive delivery against key performance measures timeously and accurately.
