We’re looking for someone to join DfT’s Organisational Design and Change Division to support on a number of high-profile programmes which aim to change the size and shape, capabilities, leadership and culture of the organisation. This role is crucial in supporting the design and development of DfT to be future ready and changing the behaviors and actions of our leaders and staff.

The post holder will work with colleagues across the division and with HR Business Partners and senior leaders to help develop, drive and own key OD and Change programmes.

You’ll be an organised person who can work at pace to create products and collate and use data.

You’ll have experience in how culture and design contributes to the performance of an organisation and how all change needs to recognise culture in order to succeed.

You’ll have experience in stakeholder management and great at working across teams and multiple projects.

You’ll have a keen sense of what’s on the horizon so that you can provide oversight, coordination and influence and design strategically important change and OD programmes that align to priority pieces of work.

You’ll be comfortable working on a number of different pieces of work at one time, flexing how you work to accommodate a range of priorities.

Responsibilities

Key accountabilities of the role include:

  • Supporting organisational design interventions, providing Organisational Design support to major change programmes including the restructuring of teams and redesign of processes and governance.
  • Supporting the development and delivery of interventions on future culture, new ways of working and team development.
  • Preparing products and delivering learning sessions for staff and senior managers impacted by Departmental Changes, particularly where new ways of working or behaviours are needed.
  • Contributing to materials to support sessions with stakeholders and clients, facilitating and note taking during sessions and workshops and preparing outputs.
  • Support in the development and delivery of our plans to make the Department for Transport a truly multi-site organisation.
  • Developing effective change management, communications and engagement approaches to support those impacted by changes and manage transformation the best way possible.
  • Work with colleagues within the team to use data and horizon scanning understand the current workforce and culture and what changes might be needed in the future.
