Summary

2.1. Undertake the investigation of clinical incidents and support laboratory staff to investigate incidents and non-conformities. Identify recommendations to be considered by the Division in conjunction with the Quality & Governance managers. 2.2. Assist laboratory management teams in the external reporting of incidents where required. 2.3. Ensure confidentiality of patient information and compliance with the Data Protection Act 1984 3.1. Takes part in duties without supervision at a level of autonomy requiring decision making but can refer to more senior or medical staff for support. 3.2. Organise own work tasks or activities. 3.3. Perform audit as directed by the department audit schedules and Divisional Quality & Governance managers, including the performance of local quality checks 3.4. Provide guidance to the Quality Support Officers and Laboratory staff when performing audit. 3.5. Work with other quality officers to implement quality improvements/preventive actions across pathology 4 3.6. Maintain compliance with ISO15189: 2012 and Trust standards, providing advice on appropriate remedial and corrective action plans to laboratory staff. 3.7. Monitor compliance with other Pathology regulatory bodies relevant to the departments including but not limited to Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), Human Tissue Authority (HTA) , Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA), European Federation of Immunogenetics (EFI) 3.8. Monitor completion of laboratory records as per documented procedures 3.9. Provide guidance to laboratory staff closing out non-conformities 3.10. Assist in the completion of external assessments action plans and complete corrective actions as directed by the quality & governance managers and Quality Leads. 3.11. Have an understanding of External Quality Assurance schemes and interpretation and support appropriate follow up of EQA exceptions 3.12. Contribute towards investigation of Serious incidents
