Summary

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Tutor to our King’s Saturday School, overseen by the Director of Innovation and Partnerships.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and people skills, a positive mindset, and be patient and understanding. They will be able to teach their subject confidently and understand how to support and extend pupils’ learning accordingly.

The King’s Saturday School is a new initiative which started in November 2022, working in partnership with four local primary schools to support their Year 5 pupils to ‘get ahead’ in key areas of their Maths, English and Drama learning. This an excellent opportunity for an individual to join our innovative programme and the King’s community. It is a particularly exciting time to be joining the School as we enjoy our superb new facilities at the Myton Road site.

King’s Saturday School runs on Saturday mornings, usually 8 sessions per term, catering for four groups of Year 5 pupils from 8 local primary schools. The pupils will complete sessions in Maths, English, Drama and Power Skills (max. 10 pupils per group). This role will deliver the Power Skills session which focuses on timetables and spellings, whilst also supporting students with additional needs and providing cover for the other subjects as needed.

The dates for Autumn Term 2024 are Saturday 14, 21, 28 September, 5 October, 9, 16, 23, 30 November and 7 December.

Salary: £32.59 ph.

Contract type: Casual

Closing date: Friday 28 June 2024 12 noon.

Interviews: w/c/ 1 July 2024.
