Location: Ty Penallta - Working hours can be split between home and office depending on specific task requirements.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider People Services Team.

Human Resources are looking to recruit a HR Assistant to work within People Services at Caerphilly County Borough Council. Here the successful candidate will support the HR service delivery to employees across the whole authority by providing a range of administrative HR tasks and offering advice and guidance on HR policies and procedures.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role as the “front line” of HR, fielding enquiries to the HR function, using your initiative to resolve issues or escalate if necessary.
Key tasks of the role will include general administration, recruitment and selection, management information, data entry on the council’s HR/Payroll system (iTrent), minute taking at meetings, contributing to HR project work, and providing accurate and timely advice on matters such as pay, terms and conditions of service.
For the role, we ask that you have:
Level 2 qualification/s on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. For example, 5 GCSEs Grades A*-C, Level 2 NVQ etc.
General knowledge of employment legislation and human resource practices. Plus, an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the HR function.
Demonstrable IT skills using a range of systems including Microsoft packages. Skilled in database management and electronic record keeping.
Ability to demonstrate a professional and flexible approach towards work and can travel across the County Borough and beyond.
