Technical Support Manager
Location: United Kingdom (Flexible with travel to sites as necessary. Head office is in Loughborough, so it may be advantageous for the candidate to be Midlands-based).

Position Overview:
As the Technical Support Manager, your mission is to ensure all technical elements required to show movies are flawlessly executed, providing unforgettable experiences for our clients customers. Reporting directly to the Head of Technology, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and advancing our technical infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include overseeing projection systems, ensuring the smooth operation of all technical equipment, and managing digital content delivery. Your role will be critical in ensuring the highest standards of technical performance across all sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely and effective technical support to ensure seamless movie screenings and resolve any technical issues.
  • Deliver comprehensive projection training programs for site-level teams to ensure proficiency in operating all projection equipment.
  • Create and maintain digital playlists for all sites, including trailers and feature films, ensuring accurate and timely content delivery.
  • Manage the availability and distribution of Digital Cinema Packages (DCP) keys, essential for unlocking and displaying movie content.
  • Oversee the setup and accuracy of private bookings and 'Book The Cinema' events, ensuring all technical requirements are met.
  • Conduct daily inspections of all projection equipment to ensure proper functionality and address any maintenance needs promptly.
  • Review and manage film schedules, coordinating with site managers to ensure accurate and timely film showings.
  • Authorise and monitor the use of projector lamps, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
  • Coordinate transport logistics for film content and necessary equipment, ensuring timely and secure delivery.
  • Update technical documentation and systems with the launch of new sites, ensuring all technical specifications are met.
  • Actively manage the logistics of film content and DCP keys, coordinating with distributors to ensure timely availability and resolving any issues as they arise.

You will be fully trained on any unfamiliar aspects of the role by the Head of Technology and the outgoing retiring Technical Support Manager. While you will not have direct reports, you will be an integral part of the technical team, working closely with site-level teams to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a technical support/IT role with at least two years' experience, preferably within the cinema or entertainment industry.
  • A passion for technology and a strong commitment to enhancing the cinema experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with employees at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with digital projection systems and related software.
  • A team player who leads by example and can rally the troops to achieve common goals.
  • Ready to travel with a clean driving licence and a zest for UK-wide cinema adventures.
  • Flexible and adaptive, understanding that the best moments often happen outside the 9-5.
