Summary

Cheltenham Borough Council has set an ambitious goal to reach net zero by 2030. We are looking for someone who is keen to make a difference, to drive our successful, leading-edge Cheltenham Zero initiative that is already supporting 170 businesses and community groups who have signed up to deliver net zero by 2030.

As a key member of a highly focused Climate and Flooding team, you will be responsible for managing this central initiative:
• Devising and delivering a segmented engagement and communications strategy for businesses and community groups across Cheltenham to deliver their own climate programme.
• Devising and delivering a high-profile programme of networking events, training, coaching and conferences to support these groups in developing their own programmes to improve their sustainability, improve energy efficiency and drive down greenhouse gas emissions.

This role would suit someone with a proven track record of successfully delivering a sustainability/net zero programme either in a reasonably sized business in the private sector, as a consultant or for a similar business initiative. Alongside the technical climate change/energy knowledge required to deliver a programme of this nature, the successful candidate will possess excellent networking, business engagement, communication and programme management skills.
