Summary

SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Caldicot

Pay Rate: from £77.40 per day

Start Date: 2nd September.

Hours: 8.30am - 3pm.

Teaching Personnel are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Teaching Assistant to work within a Special Educational Needs Resource Base in a school in Caldicot. The successful candidate will provide one-to-one and small group support to students with epilepsy and other special needs, enabling them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. The pupils ages in the school will range from 11-18.

Responsibilities:
- Provide personal support to students with epilepsy.
- Assist students with learning plans, adapting teaching materials and strategies as needed.
- Work closely with teachers to develop and implement effective learning strategies and interventions.
- Support students with sensory needs, including visual and auditory processing difficulties
- Collaborate with other support staff, including speech therapists and occupational therapists

The ideal candidate should have:
- Experience working with students with epilepsy or other special needs. (personal experience will also be considered).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion when dealing with sensitive information.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to special educational needs.
- First Aid qualification (not essential but desirable).

Requirements

- Enhanced Childs DBS on update service.

- EWC Registration

- Able to provide 2 most recent references.

- Able to interview in the next 2 weeks.

- Level 2 Safeguarding Certificate (Provided by Teaching Personnel.)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
