Summary

Personal assistant/Support Worker required.
A couple of part time flexible opportunities have become available, we are looking for other members to join our fun team, this position covers a variety of roles for a gentleman based in Sheerwater Woking, who has cerebral palsy, limited eyesight and uses an electric wheelchair but has a zest for life.
This is to cover daytime hours and some weekends. The times required may vary depending what activities / commitments I have planned, so I might need support during the day on occasional weekends or evenings if I am going out. Advance notice will be given and agreed prior to the dates needed, these hours will be shared round the team and are not required on a regular basis.
The roles are to assist him to maintain his independence and continue to enjoy a full life. No personal care is required but a can-do attitude and good sense of humour is a must.
The roles include some light cleaning, assistance in making simple meals, accompanying and supporting on various trips out, dealing with correspondence, i.e. help with paying bills, reading & typing emails etc.
The client regularly attends and broadcasts a radio show, visits the theatre and writes reviews, assistance would be required to enable him to continue with these interests, a gym buddy would also be a huge advantage, so the roles are more a "support buddy / friend" rather than your typical carer role.
We are looking to add another couple of people who can work together with an existing team covering a 7-day period, the hours are negotiable and agreed in advance, this position allows for your own life and commitments, but some flexibility would be required to cover holidays, sickness etc.
This position is paid monthly, and pension is available after a qualifying period. Rate of pay £13.15 per hour.
The client has his own vehicle so a full driving licence would be advantage, however this is not a requirement as the client also uses public transport to attend various activities.
The main qualities we are looking for are a happy disposition, flexibility and most importantly reliability, all training will be provided.
An enhanced DBS would be required and this would be carried out free of charge.
