A Supported Housing & Temporary Accommodation Officer is required to provide a comprehensive housing management service to the Supported Housing and Temporary Accommodation portfolio, within defined policies and procedures and in accordance with agreed performance standards, ensuring a high-quality customer service is provided at all times. To collaborate with adult social care team, care providers, property services, and housing needs team in providing a robust and effective service to Supported Housing and Temporary Accommodation residents, including supporting clients in extra care housing.
Key responsibilities:
Provide an effective housing management service to supported housing and temporary accommodation clients, including extra care clients, working with multi-agency partners and within the relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.
Provide onsite support for all housing management issues for key sites including Knowles House.
Complete quarterly property inspections with handy person or as directed by line manager, ensuring recorded defects are rectified within agreed time scales.
Address any issues such as ASB or neighbour disputes using established policies and processes within Brent Housing Management and liaise with supporting team such as legal where necessary.
Work closely with care providers, adult social care, and housing needs team, and other agencies to ensure clients are able to access a full range of services and support.
Work with care providers to provide support to vulnerable adults with a focus on tenancy sustainment.
Work with Homelessness Prevention Officers to ensure those in Temporary Accommodation are prepared to meet the requirements of their tenancy when moved to permanent accommodation
Ensure tenancy breaches are communicated to relevant teams so action such as discharging duty can be carried out if necessary.
Work to deliver high levels of satisfaction among residents living in this portfolio.
Maintain comprehensive notes on the CRM system including making referrals to teams where required e.g. fraud, safeguarding.

Qualifications:
Evidence of continuous professional development in Housing.
Experience:
Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
Experience of working in supported housing / housing related support environment is desired (e.g. sheltered housing and/or extra care).
Experience of working in housing related or similar customer facing area, or studying a housing related subject.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of housing legislation in particular an understanding of Landlord and Tenant law, supported housing and basic homelessness legislation.
Knowledge of safeguarding and working with vulnerable adults.
Skills & Abilities:
Able to communicate effectively and concisely, displaying good interpersonal skills in multiple modes (phone, face-to-face, emails and in writing) using customer friendly language.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
Good negotiation and influencing skills, patient and knowledgeable.
Can prioritise work in order to meet deadlines.
Able to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
High attention to detail and ability to self-check and review work outputs to ensure accuracy of records.
Problem solving and decision making - ability to deal with potentially complex situations within a busy workload, mitigate risks to customer and organisation, and achieve positive outcomes.
