Summary

Newport Live is an award winning not for profit sport, leisure, and cultural trust; and registered UK Charity with an excellent track record of delivering innovative programmes and services to our communities and residents that ‘inspire people to be happier and healthier’.

Our Riverfront Theatre and Arts Centre is located in Newport City Centre, and hosts a variety of events from performances in the auditorium which seats over 450 people, to our art gallery spaces, hosting workshops and classes, and our cinema, which seats over 100 people.

We are also the hub for fantastic outdoor events in the City including the fabulous Big Splash, returning this July, and Pride in the Port this September.

Our Box Office Assistants are part of the first point of contact for customers, visitors, and members at the Riverfront Theatre & Arts Centre, providing information on our programme of events, and selling tickets for performances.

We are looking for additional team members to join us on a Casual basis, to pick up shifts during busy periods and absence cover.

Main duties of the role include:

- First point of contact at the front desk, for all those visiting the Riverfront
- Handling incoming queries in person, via email, via digital platforms, or via telephone
- Sales of tickets for our shows, events, and cinema
- Assisting with bookings relating to the site including room bookings and meetings
- Efficient administration for accuracy in data and attendance management
- Keeping up-to-date with all marketing activity to ensure awareness of programme of events and associated promotions

You must have experience of working in a similar or retail environment where you had responsibility handling payments, and be a competent IT user.

The ability to communicate in Welsh or other languages to support our diverse community is beneficial to your application.

This can be a busy role, and the ability to cope well when working under pressure to tight deadlines, whilst maintaining a polite and pleasant manner, is a must.

Rate of Pay: Real Living Wage (currently £12.00 per hour)

Working Hours: Flexible - the shifts will cover mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Available shifts will be published in advance for you to decline or commit to; occasionally opportunities will become available at short notice, therefore full flexibility is appreciated.
