About the role

As part of the Group FP&A team, you are uniquely placed to connect the dots and build a story across Tesco Group, including our retail businesses (UK/Central Europe/ROI), Tesco Bank and dunnhumby. This is an exciting opportunity to proactively shape strategy and action to drive Tesco’s success, through great planning, reporting and insight.

Our team partners the Group Finance Leadership Team, including Group CFO, and local business unit leaders, to provide relevant analysis and insight, to drive understanding and decision making.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead reporting / planning cycles, with outputs going to both the Executive Committee and Plc Board.

You will be responsible for

  • The scope and design of Group FP&A timelines, ensuring timely communication with relevant market Finance teams.
  • Working collaboratively with the business unit teams to define the necessary inputs, both financial and non-financial, that will be required each reporting / planning cycle.
  • Deliver presentations for the Executive Committee and Plc Board, plus partner key colleagues to provide accompanying insight.
  • Conduct analysis of key commercial drivers to generate insight behind changes in sales, profit, cash, capital allocations and APM metrics (net debt, EPS).
  • Proactively look for opportunities to develop reporting / planning tools and processes, to deliver outstanding FP&A.
  • Ad-hoc projects and scenario evaluation to support our business leaders.

You will need

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong Financial Planning & Analysis experience
  • Natural curiosity to develop business understanding and challenge assumptions
  • The ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner suitable for a senior audience
  • The drive, motivation and organisational skills to ensure self and team succeed in an environment of changing priorities
  • High attention to detail, strong Excel and visualisation skills (mainly PowerPoint)
