Summary
We are looking Nursery Nurse who will work in Queens Hospital Rom Valley Way, Romford, RM7 0AG.

Job Summary:
To work as part of a team to create a happy, safe and stimulated environment for all children, aged up to 5 years of age and to meet the individual needs of the child.
To support the children in all areas of their development, including children with Special Educational Needs, in line with The Early Years Foundation Stage and plan accordingly.
To have specific keyworker responsibilities which include compiling progress reports, record keeping and maintaining parent partnerships.
Main Responsibilities:
To provide support for other staff in the room.
To provide the best possible care and stimulation for the children of the nursery in a safe and happy environment.
To liaise with parents and encourage their involvement in the aims of the nursery and in all the aspects of their children’s care.
To assist in the supervising and training of NVQ Trainees.
To provide support for other staff in the room.
To assist in the planning of appropriate programmes of activity for the under 5’s relevant to their age and stage of development and to discuss other matters relevant to the staff and children.
To work effectively as part of a team on a daily basis. In the absence of the Senior Nursery Nurse to be responsible for the playroom alongside other nursery nurses or equivalent. To use own initiative.
To assist in the daily domestic management of the nursery; including ensuring that the nursery is kept safe, secure and clean at all times.
Education/ Qualifications:
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in childcare
First Aid Certificate.
Skills/Abilities:
Good communication.
Team player.
Good observational skills.
Physical ability to react quickly in an emergency.
Maintain confidentiality.
Experience/Knowledge:
Experience of working within a day nursery with a good understanding of the EYFS.
Aware of child protection and Safeguarding practices.
Experience/Knowledge of working with Special Educational Needs children.
Knowledge/experience of Ofsted inspections.
