Join Our Team as a Project Engineer

As a Project Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in our Council's capital programme in North Tyneside.

Your challenge? To design and develop cutting-edge traffic and parking schemes that enhance our community's quality of life. Collaborate with talented team members, engage with stakeholders, and make a lasting impact on our city's mobility landscape. What you'll be doing:

Design Excellence: Work closely with our Traffic & Road Safety Team to create high-quality traffic, parking, and active travel schemes. Your designs will shape how people move and interact within our city.
Stakeholder Engagement: Conduct consultations with community members, businesses, and other departments. Your insights will drive inclusive and effective solutions.
Data-Driven Insights: Analyse survey data to inform evidence-based decisions. Your expertise will guide our traffic and parking strategies.
Site Assessments: Evaluate requests for parking restrictions through thorough site inspections. Your attention to detail matters.
Regulatory Expertise: Draft Traffic Regulation Orders and internal governance documents. Your legal acumen ensures compliance and efficiency.
Community Interaction: Lead meetings and address inquiries from councillors and the public. Your communication skills will foster trust and transparency.

What we're looking for:

• An HNC or above in Civil Engineering;
• Extensive knowledge and experience of current traffic and parking technical and legal requirements and practices;
• Knowledge and experience of relevant Health & Safety and Environmental legislation; Ability to ensure that budgets are managed effectively;
• Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD 2D for the design of schemes;
• A full UK driving licence;
• Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with colleagues at all levels;
• Good verbal and written communication skills
