We welcome applications from candidates with no prior experience as well as candidates with some prior training.



We are looking for two Apprentice Electricians to join L&Q in our maintenance team and to gain experience in the electrical installation trade. You will be carrying out electrical repairs and maintenance to L&Q’s housing stock throughout the London region.



Overview of the role:



As an Apprentice Electrician, you will receive training to enable you to support the team in providing a first-class service to our customers and will be expected to assist in carrying out electrical repairs and installation in accordance with IEE Regulations.



The successful candidates will be working under instruction and supervision, but also taking responsibility individually, for their own work (where appropriate, and within their assessed abilities and skill set). This will include carrying out day to day repairs, initial and periodic inspection and testing of occupied and unoccupied domestic installations, including rectification of any minor remedial repairs where identified. The role covers properties within our neighbourhoods.



These apprenticeship roles offer a maximum four-and-a-half-year fixed term contract during which time you will undertake a Level 3, Installation Electrician and Maintenance Electrician Apprenticeship.



The apprenticeship learning will support your development and chosen career path. Whilst undertaking your learning programme, your manager will help guide your development and day-to-day work, a mentor will provide extra support throughout your role, and you'll be working alongside experienced colleagues to learn hands-on, work-based skills.





Skills and Experience:

· Enthusiasm for the role and L&Q.

· Willingness to learn and grow with a positive attitude to working within a busy maintenance team.

· Desire to deliver high quality work, customer focused and right first-time attitude.

· Willingness to study to gain a qualification and be keen to learn new skills to progress their career.

· Ability to use own initiative, to work independently, as well as being a good team player.

· Good problem-solving skills.

· Responsible and enthusiastic attitude.

· Desire to work within a diverse forward-thinking environment with diverse internal and external customers.

· Good verbal communication skills.

· Interest in using electronic media, (PDA /Email) and associated IT systems.

· A flexible and organised approach to work.

· GCSEs in English and Maths, Grade C / Grade 4 or above.





Other essential information:



· Must be able to work in the UK.



A full UK Driving Licence is not a requirement for application of this apprenticeship programme, however following completion, a full UK Driving Licence will be required to be considered for progression to a ‘Trainee’ position.
