Summary

Bangor University is seeking to recruit a full time, permanent Security and Response Manager.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Campus Services team and to lead the Security section in delivering a professional and reliable security service for the University.
Based in person at our Bangor Campus, the Security team operates 24/7, 365 days a year. The postholder will be expected to be flexible with regard to working hours in order to effectively manage the team and its operation and will be the out-of-hours emergency contact for the section. The postholder will be responsible for the section’s performance and its monitoring, identifying, recommending and introducing any efficiencies and improved ways of working.

Operational management of parking, building access and event manager are all key parts of the role and the incumbent will be expected to engage however, there will be regular engagement and co-working with colleagues from across the institution, as well as with the student community.
The Security & Response Manager is a key role in the operational response to emergencies, particularly with regard to incident management and emergency escalation. The postholder will provide operational incident management and will undertake the role of Operational Incident Manager as part of the University’s emergency management plan.

The postholder will be expected to lead on security initiatives, to be up-to-date, aware and appraised of developments in technology, new legislation and similar at a local and national level and to play a key role in identifying requirements, planning, developing and embedding new policies and procedures.
Candidates will hold a relevant SIA (Security Industry Authority) licence (or have a willingness to work towards this within a specified timeframe) and have experience of working in a role with security responsibilities or working in allied uniformed services.
The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post. This post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check.
