Summary
To undertake ophthalmic technician duties including (but not limited to) : Pre-assessment Biometry Visual acuity assessment Computerised visual field assessment Retinal imaging using various retinal imaging devices including OPTOS and OCT imaging Measurement of spectacles using the automated focimeter Measurement of Intraocular pressure using the Reichert Ocular Response Analyser and iCARE To participate in the virtual glaucoma clinic and the ophthalmology visual field clinic as required. To use patient management systems such as PCS to manage patient appointments and to input patient details into Medisight To undertake administrative tasks associated with the role, following departmental guidelines and procedures. To contribute to the efficient running of all clinics To ensure safe use and maintenance of all equipment To commit to further training as required To demonstrate ophthalmic technician duties to others and to assist in training new staff when necessary To ensure compliance with policies and procedures of the Trust To contribute to service development
