Summary

At the School of Health, Education, Policing & Science at Staffordshire University we have an exciting portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, with a strong history of nursing, midwifery and nursing associate education. We are keen to recruit excellent lecturing staff to support our mental health nursing provision. You will be joining a well-established team with a wealth of experience both clinically and academically. The school is highly interdisciplinary in nature, and a great place to develop a distinctive academic portfolio.

In addition to developing and delivering outstanding teaching and learning you will have the opportunity to develop your own academic skillset and contribute towards our ambitious research and enterprise goals. We are particularly interested to hear from candidates with experience in research and who therefore have the potential to contribute to the University’s research agenda and work with internationally leading research centres. Within this community you will have the opportunity to grow academically while working with a team of dedicated professionals. As a member of academic staff, you will have the opportunity to work at our Centre for Health Innovation in Stafford in one of the UK’s foremost simulation and ‘simmersive’ teaching and learning environments.

We are looking for experienced candidates who have demonstrable excellent subject knowledge in mental health nursing (2 x full time posts, although part-time hours will be considered), with a passion to teach and shape the next generation of clinicians.

Additional Desirable skills:

• Experience of working in a range of mental health nursing environments.

• Teaching in a Higher Education setting

• Experience of research and writing for publication.
