Are you looking for a new challenge? Do you have transferrable skills? Here at RDASH NHS Trust we have numerous exciting opportunities for full time/part time Band 7 Cognitive Behavioural Therapists and Supervisors to join our ‘Mental Health Support Team’. We would welcome adult trained Therapists or Therapists with Talking Therapies/IAPT experience who have transferable skills and an interest in working with comprehensive school aged children and their families.

Training and comprehensive induction is available for candidates who meet the criteria but do not have formal supervision training or experience within children’s services. We would welcome candidates with a passion for CBT, an understandingof the important role of early intervention and prevention and a willingness to be part of an enthusiastic, creative, and reflective team.

As a Mental Health Support Team we offer low intensity CBT informed psychological interventions and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to young people within a mild to moderate early intervention and prevention framework.

The MHST ‘With Me in Mind’ is at pre-CAMHS level of support and is built upon the recommendations in the green paper ‘Transforming Mental Health Services for Children and Young People’.. As a service we are developing a stepped care model to ensure those young people whose needs may not be met by low intensity interventions receive timely access to evidence based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

We are looking to recruit an experienced CBT Therapist, with experience in the delivery of CBT to children and young people (CYP) and their families to manage anxiety, low mood, and behavioural problems. Experience delivering supervision using a CBT framework is essential, as is understanding the speciality of low intensity CBT informed practice within the context of MHST’s.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the delivery of evidence-based CBT interventions in schools/colleges and supporting the supervision and governance structures. They would be expected to hold a small case load of cases with moderate levels of complexity.

The post holder would be expected to work closely with the other supervisors & clinical leads. They would also be expected to contribute to the training opportunities available for more junior members of staff to support their development.

The candidate will need to be passionate about working within newly developing Mental Health Support Teams and innovative in their approach to developing new services. The post holder will need to be registered with a professional governing body (as stated in the person spec) and have experiencing of service development, service evaluation, development of clinical interventions and research.
