Job Summary:
An HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) at Willow Park should be passionate and dedicated. They are committed to supporting the creation of a nurturing and stimulating learning environment, fostering the academic and personal growth of our students. They assist the teacher and other staff in delivering high-quality teaching, developing lesson plans, assessing student progress, and managing classroom behaviour effectively.
An HLTA will work under the direction and supervision of a teacher to contribute to the planning, delivery and evaluation of learning activities for whole classes, groups and individual pupils.
Specified work may be delivered to whole classes, without the presence of a teacher, on an ongoing basis as part of routine timetabling (e.g. PPA provision) and/or on a more ad hoc basis as part of the schools strategy for planned absences of up to 3 days.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Teaching and Learning:
Demonstrate an informed and efficient approach to teaching and learning by adopting relevant strategies to support the work of the teacher and increase achievement of all pupils, accommodating different learning styles and abilities for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
Promote, support and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning
Organise and manage teaching space and resources to help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment.For a full job description please see the attached.
