It is an exciting time for Alternative Provision in East Sussex as we embark on a collaborative journey of systemic transformation and improvement.

Working in partnership with East Sussex County Council and SABDEN Multi Academy Trust, London South East Academies Trust (LSEAT) is seeking committed, dynamic and talented staff to join its team at College Central – which will become East Sussex Academy (part of LSEAT) later this year.

Our school provides education for 4–16-year-olds who have been excluded from mainstream settings across the county. Demand for this provision has increased dramatically since the pandemic, creating many challenges and resulting in a need for the school to significantly improve.

To secure a successful future for staff and pupils, a transfer process is now underway – we (LSEAT) are working closely with the existing providers to ensure a smooth transition.

This will include relocating the school to improved, purposeful buildings within the area, which are better suited to the needs of pupils. We are also focused on expanding and strengthening our staff teams across the school.

We are now seeking to recruit a Special Education Needs Admin support to join us at this exciting time.

The hours of work are 8.30am–3.30pm, Monday to Friday (exact working pattern to be discussed at interview and agreed on successful appointment). We are a warm, friendly and supportive team, with additional benefits, such as free daily lunch.

About The Company
Are you passionate about education, looking for your next career move and ready to take on a real challenge to help transform young lives?
If you are success-driven and want to make a difference, we have some exciting opportunities for you.
As a new provider of Alternative Provision in East Sussex, we are looking for aspirational and talented teaching professionals, at all levels, to join the team at College Central.
Supporting children from 5-16 who have been excluded from mainstream education, this school will become part of London South East Academies Trust later this year and then renamed East Sussex Academy.
In partnership with the current Trust (The SABDEN Multi Academy Trust) and East Sussex County Council, we are embarking on an ambitious journey of rapid improvement and transformation. Our shared aim is to ensure every child gets the best possible education, care and support.
Our Multi-Academy Trust has an excellent track record for improvement, with a network of mainstream, special and AP schools across London, Kent, East Sussex, and Surrey.
Joining East Sussex Academy will give you access to exceptional training and progression opportunities, a competitive salary and benefits – as well as the chance to genuinely make a difference to the lives of vulnerable children and their families.
With our ambitious growth plans and commitment to providing outstanding education for all, there has never been a better time to join our exciting organisation.
London South East Academies Trust – transforming lives through the power of learning
The school has a proven commitment to 'Equality of Opportunity' and actively promotes the welfare and safeguarding of young people. Shortlisted candidates will be subject to social media checks and successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced check from the Disclosure and Debarring Service (DBS). References will be requested for those shortlisted only prior to interview.
Only those shortlisted for interview will be contacted.
This post is considered to be a customer-facing position; as such it falls within scope of the Code of Practice on English language requirement for public sector workers. The school therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the person specification. These will be applied during the recruitment/selection and probationary stages.
Due to the nature of this role and our requirements we will be continuously interviewing as candidates apply and therefore, we reserve the right to remove this role once we have found a successful candidate.
