We are looking for an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor to join L&Q in our Commercial Team.
The apprenticeship learning will support your development and chosen career path. Whilst undertaking your learning programme, your manager will help guide your development and day-to-day work, a mentor will provide extra support throughout your role, and you'll be working alongside experienced colleagues to learn hands-on, work-based skills.
Overview of the role:
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with all colleagues in Development & Sales to ensure focus on what is required to achieve objectives and key performance indicators.
You will receive training to enable you to support the team in ensuring the financial and contractual interests of L&Q through best value in relation to project procurement and control.
The Apprentice Quantity Surveyor will:
· Contribute to business performance and customer service delivery whilst operating in line with L&Q’s values.
· Ensure business interests are maintained through contract and sub-contracts.
· Maintain relationships with all colleagues and stakeholders.
· Seek authorisation for spend up to agreed levels.
· Ensure L&Q’s Health & Safety procedures are adhered to.
Skills and Experience:
· Enthusiasm for the role and L&Q.
· Good analytical skills
· Good communication skills - must be able to communicate effectively with Team, clients and sub-contractors.
· Ability to understand and be understood, both verbally and in writing.
· Ability to work independently, as well as being a good team player.
· Good organisational skills and ability to manage/prioritise own workload.
· Good problem-solving skills.
· Willingness to learn and grow with a positive attitude to work.
· Strong IT Skills
Apprenticeship details: Level 4 Quantity Surveyor (with LSBU). To be eligible you must have:
· A Level DD or.
· BTEC National Diploma PPP or.
· Access to HE Diploma with 21 Merits or.
· Level 3 Apprenticeship in related subject or.
· Equivalent level 3 qualifications worth 64 UCAS points
And 5 GCSE’s including Maths and English (C or above) or equivalent (reformed GCSEs grade 4 or above.)
