This is an exciting time at the University of Dundee and RIS as we seek to protect and commercialise a strong pipeline of intellectual property coming from our world class academic base. We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as an IP & Licensing Administrator within our IP & Commercialisation Team in RIS, to provide the vital


The focus will be primarily on pro-active intellectual property and licensing administration to ensure the accuracy and security of the variable and complex data comprised in the IP portfolio, as well as ensuring delivery of all related financial transactions. The role will require considerable diligence and initiative, as well as a pro-active and professional approach, given the complexity of the data and internal and external stakeholders involved.


This role would suit a pro-active, experienced and professional administrator with excellent attention to detail. Experience in the administration of intellectual property is not required for this role as the successful candidate will be provided with training and support to deliver this important role.


Your priorities will include:



  • Data entry and day-to-day administration of IP portfolio using various proprietary software packages

  • Filing and maintenance of correspondence and other key documentation

  • Collating and sharing information with a variety of internal and external stakeholders

  • Supporting the IP&C team with preparing a variety of standard form agreements, and liaising with relevant parties (internally and externally) in relation to achieve sign off

  • Administrating payment of all licence and licence-related income from licensees and liaising with internal finances colleagues to ensure timely processing

  • Excellent organisation skills, being able to prioritise work and meet deadlines, and work independently without undue supervision

  • Excellent MS suite IT skills (Sharepoint, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Databases, Web searching)

  • Ability to work under pressure without sacrificing quality

  • Great customer service and professionalism

  • Initiative, self-motivation and attention to detail
