Currently, we are seeking a dedicated full-time Tandoori Chef for our esteemed Bombay Bustle located at 29 Maddox Street in the heart of Mayfair, London
Bombay Bustle, a renowned restaurant in Mayfair, is seeking a skilled and passionate Tandoori Chef to join our culinary team.
The Tandoori Chef will play a crucial role in creating authentic and flavorful dishes using the tandoor oven, overseeing kitchen operations, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and taste.
Responsibilities:
Food Procurement and Quality Assurance:
• Requisition and purchase foodstuffs from suppliers, examining items to ensure quality, freshness, and adherence to the restaurant's standards.
• Inspect and verify the quality of food ingredients, especially those used for tandoori dishes.
Menu Planning and Culinary Execution:
• Collaborate with the culinary team to plan menus that feature a variety of tandoori dishes in line with the restaurant's theme.
• Prepare, season, and cook foodstuffs in the tandoor oven, ensuring accurate execution of recipes and achieving the desired flavors.
Kitchen Supervision and Organization:
• Supervise and organize kitchen staff, ensuring a coordinated workflow and timely preparation of tandoori dishes.
• Manage the kitchen area dedicated to tandoor cooking, overseeing tasks and responsibilities within this section.
Quality Control and Presentation:
• Monitor the quality of finished tandoori dishes, ensuring they meet the restaurant's standards for taste, appearance, and presentation.
• Maintain consistency in tandoori cooking techniques and flavors.
Hygiene and Safety Compliance:
• Enforce stringent hygiene, health, and safety standards within the kitchen area.
• Ensure proper food handling, storage, and cleanliness in the tandoor section.
Kitchen Coordination:
• Plan and coordinate kitchen tasks related to tandoor cooking, including fetching ingredients, clearing workspaces, and cleaning equipment and utensils.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Tandoori Chef or similar role, ideally within a high-end restaurant environment.
• Proficiency in traditional tandoor cooking techniques and the ability to create a variety of flavorful dishes.
• Strong culinary skills in marinating, seasoning, and cooking meats, breads, and vegetables in the tandoor.
• Leadership and organizational skills to supervise kitchen staff and manage the tandoor section effectively.
• Thorough knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
• Creativity in designing tandoori menus that appeal to customers' preferences.
• Effective communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and other team members.
• Positive attitude and passion for delivering authentic and memorable dining experiences.
