About the role As a Rainbows Band 6 Nurse youll be responsible for providing excellent step-down, and long-term ventilation care and a high standard of nursing care in a family led environment. Some of the key responsibilities include (but not limited to): Empower families and community care packages to be competent and confident to meet the LTV and nursing care needs of the child or young person in preparation for going home. Lead a team of nurses and care team members on a day-to-day basis in the care of children and young people who have long term ventilation needs who are receiving step down care at Rainbows. To assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care of children and young people with long term ventilation needs. Liaise with the consultants and respiratory teams at the hospital as well as the community teams in planning and providing care for the child or young person. Liaise with other professionals in the hospice, from the discharging hospitals and receiving community teams. Requirements As an experienced Band 6 Nurse, you'll need to be qualified RSCN/RN (Child Branch)/ RNLD/ RGN with post registration experience of working with babies, children, young people and/or adults with long term ventilation needs, and experience teaching junior staff and/or parents clinical skills. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to demonstrate high standards of clinical care. Further requirements can be found by downloading the Person Specification.
