A Vacancy at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced dietitian with an interest and passion to develop their research skills and experience to join the trust multi-disciplinary nutrition team in this part time (15hrs pw), fixed term 12 month, Band 6 role.
University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire is a designated Severe Intestinal Failure integrated centre, this research role works alongside the Nutrition team MDT offering fantastic opportunities for development of knowledge and skills in a thriving nutrition service.
You will be an enthusiastic and dynamic Dietitian who wishes to develop your research skills in nutrition support. You will work with the supervision and support of the consultant dietitian to provide dietetic expertise on the delivery of clinical trials and in the development and set up of new research, evaluation and audit projects within the department, including the expansion of the dietitian-led indirect calorimetry service. You will be a core member of the well-established nutrition team, alongside medical, nursing and pharmacy colleagues, taking part in inpatient ward rounds, outpatient MDT clinics as required for research. You will be trained and supported in this role by the Consultant Dietitian for the service.

Within this nutrition team research role your main duties and responsibilities will include:
- To provide specialist dietetic advice on the dietary / nutritional management of adult patients who require nutrition support including those with intestinal failure or complex enteral nutrition support needs.
- Undertake research, evaluation, and audit projects, including collection, analysis and reporting of data as directed, and with the support of, the consultant dietitian.
- Contribute to the multidisciplinary management of a specialist inpatient and outpatient caseload of intestinal failure / complex nutrition patients on parenteral, enteral and oral nutrition support.
- Act as an adviser and educator to other health care professionals and other Coventry Dietitians in the specialist dietetic area of intestinal failure and complex nutrition support.

To use appropriate communication skills and resources to ensure that suitably accessible information is available to individuals on their dietary treatment/care plans.
To liaise with catering, nursing and dietetic staff to ensure the provision of a satisfactory meal service for individual patients.
To attend and participate in multidisciplinary meetings and ward rounds.
To participate in the health promotion activities of the department.
To work flexible hours to meet the needs of the patients and the service as required.
