Summary
This is a 6 month contract role and involves connecting/disconnecting boats in the harbour for those who request water to the water network. There will also be routine operation and maintenance tasks to be undertaken relating to the equipment involved in undertaking the role, including working on valves/hydrants.
Ideally after the initial training the candidate would move on to a shift pattern as the team in the harbour cover the port 356 days 24/7, but this will be agreed with the individual and team. The shift patterns are:
06:00 - 14:00
08:00 - 16:00
14:00 - 22:00
22:00 - 06:00
There will also be overtime opportunities across the evenings and weekends once the individual is up to speed with the port and the role.
Skills required:
- An understanding of the Water Networks/Water Treatment would be preferred.
- DOMS accreditation is essential.
- A driving licence would be required in order to operate the van within the port.
- Disclosure Scotland check will be required.
