Summary

Job description
Do you want to work for an organisation that values difference and includes everyone?

Then the Environment Agency is the organisation for you!

We are fully committed to being an inclusive employer and ensuring equal opportunities for everyone. We welcome flexible working patterns for all our vacancies, including job share.

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Corporate Property Team on a fixed term contract in a pivotal role that will help realise our overall ambition. Working in a small team you will support the Senior Advisors who, in partnership with, Area and National Operations teams across the business, partners in Defra Group property, consultants and contractors to deliver an ambitious £50m Depot Investment Programme and shape our EA corporate property strategy. From small scale improvements to large scale acquisition, design and build projects, the estate will be transformative, enhancing our workspaces, supporting more flexible ways of working and delivery of our priorities.

The role is challenging but has huge impact. Working to deliver our estate ambition you will be tasked with developing strong relationships across the EA and Defra at all levels to enable delivery. You will offer guidance and advice to Areas on their own estate requirements, and you will help shape our wider strategic thinking.

It is important that you enjoy working independently but also be keen to work collaboratively with Defra & other EA colleagues to ensure the best outcome.

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. Everyone that joins us is required to undertake training and participate. Please see the candidate pack for more on how you will support with this.
The team
The Estates Team sits within the larger Sustainability, Funding and Service Operations directorate. You can read more about the directorate in the Additional Information pack.

The Estates service extends to 125 people, offering professional support for Environment Agency land, property, compensation and valuation matters. We are core to the delivery of the Agency's £5.2 billion capital programme to better protect 336,000 homes.
Experience/skills required
We’re looking for someone who is solution focussed, collaborative in their approach. Someone who can work well under pressure, can influence a very diverse stakeholder matrix and someone who will constructively challenge the norm by thinking creatively & innovatively.

Key skills and experience include:
• organisational skills and the ability to prioritise your workload
• relationship building ability and stakeholder management
• good communication skills with the ability to adapt to your audience.
