Summary

Inkjet Ink (Application) Support Specialist

Join a world class team working at the forefront of print technology. This is an extremely niche hybrid role, which requires extensive travel overseas, and approx one week per month in east Kent. In reality, the candidate could live almost anywhere in the UK, if able to travel to east Kent monthly. 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. £30-50,000 pa, dependant on experience, plus a car allowance, with benefits to include:

As part of the Inkjet Business Division, reporting to the Global Application & Service Manager, you will be responsible for providing support to stakeholders, including key OEMs (original equipment manufacturers). In essence, you must have a deep understanding of inkjet ink performance and systems interactions.

Key roles & responsibilities:

  • Managing the testing and validation of inkjet inks within OEM systems and ensuring excellent ink on substrate print results, as expected by the end users in the desired application.
  • Deliver timely expert escalation support to all stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage test protocols for new product evaluations, as well as project reviews to support inkjet system developments.
  • Develop relationships with OEM customers and offer expert product knowledge to support engineering/integration activities.
  • Fully understand the functionality and capability of all OEM products.
  • Establish effective working relationships and networks within the Inkjet Business Division Group, and ensure knowledge and best practice is shared openly.
  • Investigate and report failure mode cause and effect.
  • Assist with supporting product documentation, training requirements and distribution of technical support information.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Degree level or equivalent, educated in relevant scientific subject, eg chemistry.
  • Experience in inkjet printing technology and printer applications.
  • Integration know-how of inkjet inks for UV and Aqueous inks is desirable.
  • Proven solo onsite customer support experience
  • IT literate - Microsoft Office and Service package applications (Salesforce.com)
  • Around 7 years' technical professional experience in inkjet R&D and/or hardware engineering.
  • Background in chemistry/laboratories is helpful, as well as customer focussed experience and/or experience of packaging printing, within the printing and/or inkjet industry is desirable.
  • Ability to apply expertise and technology.
  • Adept at working with people and developing formal and informal networks.
  • Analytically minded, with strong verbal communication skills, including report
  • Proactive, ambitious, and strong ability to learn new
  • Highly organised and detailed, with critical attention to detail and documentation.
  • Full UK driving licence required and ability to travel up to 60% of the time, inc east Kent.
