Summary

We have an exciting opportunity in Research Partnerships and Innovation (RPI) for a highly motivated individual who thrives in a varied and collaborative working environment. This is an exciting time to join the department to support research in an area where there is significant opportunity. The University has ambitious targets for research income to support its’ strategy for excellent research and the Research Growth team (RG), based in RPI, plays a key role supporting academics across the University to maximise their chances of winning research funding.
You will have a key role in delivering targeted support to areas in the engineering Faculty for which research growth is a priority and for which you can also have a positive influence in enabling success. As part of a team that supports the interests of all faculties as well as wider University needs, you will both contribute to and benefit from a shared pool of knowledge which you will then apply to the benefit of Engineering as well as contributing to wider University priorities.
Activity will be varied and may be disciplinary or interdisciplinary, have a national or international dimension and will at times involve working with external partners and stakeholders. Motivation for the role, excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach will be characteristics of the person we’re looking for as will be the capacity to develop specialist knowledge and apply it in ways that will make a positive difference.
