Summary
We have an exciting opportunity in the department of Estates & Facilities Management for someone with a passion for Asbestos management, with the drive to make a real difference to the way we work around campus and have skills and knowledge.
The Asbestos manager is responsible for all aspects of asbestos-related compliance and managing associated works in accordance with the University’s Asbestos Management Plan, policies, and procedures to ensure business continuity, efficiency, and safety across the University’s estate.
You will have responsibility for all asbestos-related matters including: development and implementation of policies and procedures; emergency and contingency planning; survey and inspections, routine and project related removals and remediation; management and communication systems; procurement activities; permits to work; staff training and guidance.
You will ensure that the University complies with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and all other statute and initiate best practice routines and techniques to provide a high quality and robust service.
The Department of Estates & Facilities Management at the University of Sheffield is responsible for the management of the University's estate, including managing property and facilities and developing new buildings.
