Head Greenkeeper

Biggar Golf Course

37 hours per week.

The Head Greenkeeper will be responsible for the overall maintenance and management of the golf course, ensuring that all areas are kept to the highest standards. This role involves overseeing a team of greenkeepers, planning, and executing maintenance schedules, and ensuring the course is in top condition year-round.

Responsibilities

Oversee the daily maintenance and care of the golf course, including fairways, greens, tees, bunkers, and roughs.

Develop and implement effective maintenance plans and schedules.

Manage and supervise the greenkeeping team, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.

Monitor and maintain the health and condition of the turf, identifying and addressing issues promptly.

Operate and maintain greenkeeping equipment, ensuring all tools are in good working order.

Manage the course’s irrigation systems, including scheduling and repairs.

Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides in accordance with regulations and environmental guidelines.

Collaborate with the management team on course improvement projects and long-term planning.

Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment usage, and supply inventories.

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations for all greenkeeping activities.
