About the Role

Base Location: Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK or Ireland sites, which includes but is not limited to:- Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness, Reading, Havant, Belfast or Dublin.

We are seeking experienced and highly skilled Power Systems Study Engineers, at various seniority levels, to join our team and contribute to the successful development and operation of our assets. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in power system studies, including dynamic performance analysis, EMT analysis, harmonic studies, and grid code compliance. This role will involve using advanced simulation tools such as PSCAD and DigSilent to ensure the optimal performance and reliability of our Renewables assets.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and conduct dynamic performance studies and transient Electromagnetic Transient (EMT) analysis for offshore / onshore wind farms using vendor specific wind turbine and HVDC converter models.

- Carry out grid code compliance studies to ensure all offshore wind projects meet relevant regulatory requirements and prepare detailed technical reports and documentation of study results.

- Utilize PSCAD and DigSilent for detailed power system simulations and analysis, including performing harmonic studies to analyse and mitigate potential harmonic issues in the power system.

- Provide technical expertise and guidance on power system issues to project teams and collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to optimise the design and operation of offshore wind farms.

- Support the commissioning and testing phases of offshore and onshore wind projects and keep to date with the latest industry standards, technologies, and best practices in power systems engineering.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

-Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Masters degree preferred, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in power systems engineering, with a focus on offshore wind projects.

- Proficiency in PSCAD and DigSilent software for power system simulation and analysis with extensive experience in dynamic performance studies and transient EMT analysis with vendor specific WTG and HVDC converter models.

- Proven experience with grid code compliance studies and regulatory requirements, and a strong background in harmonic studies and mitigation techniques.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
