Summary
The Hinckley Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) will be a brand-new purpose-built two floor health facility situated in the heart of Hinckley. The CDC will operate 7 days a week and will offer an extensive set of diagnostic services including imaging, cardio-respiratory, audiology, phlebotomy and endoscopy to meet the healthcare needs of the local population of Hinckley and its surrounding areas. The CDC will provide a Multi - professional approach providing the right care in right place by a skilled and expert team. UHL are leading the way in healthcare and transforming the way we work to reduce waiting times, improve patient care and staff experience.
It will focus on the provision of high volume, low complexity care across a range of specialities , promising increased access to healthcare services improving overall experience, increased staff wellbeing, training and development opportunities, as a well as a chance to work with the latest equipment and techniques.
This is a developmental role; the post holder will be working towards progression to the post of Cardio-Respiratory Associate Practitioner at band 4, supported by successful completion of the Level 4 Cardio-Respiratory Apprenticeship and associated Competency Assessment Framework/s.

• You will become trained to become independent in a variety of both cardiac and respiratory diagnostics, including spirometry, lung volumes, diffusion capacity, FeNO, Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM), ECGs, Ambulatory ECG Monitoring and supporting the Echo service.
• You will be study towards an online NSHCS (National School Health Care Science) accredited L4 apprenticeship in Healthcare Science (Cardiac and Respiratory) over a 2 year period alongside a structured on-the-job training program.

• After a period of supervision and training, actively participate in performing cardiac and respiratory investigations independently to include;
Spirometry, Reversibility, Full lung function tests, ECGs, ECG ambulatory monitoring, BP ambulatory monitoring, FeNO.
• To be actively involved with the maintenance and quality control (QC) of all equipment used in the cardiac and respiratory areas
• To ensure all equipment and resources are maintained to regulated standards and adhere to both health and safety and infection control policies.
• To adhere to professional codes of practice and perform the role to national and local standards.
• To promote regular quality assurance (QA).
