Summary
We are currently seeking applications for 3 GCS Chauffeurs within the Directorate for Corporate Transformation based in Edinburgh.
As part of your role you will play a key role in supporting senior personnel conducting vital Government business. It is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a keen interest in driving. These are high profile posts and as a representative of the Scottish Government you will ensure your personal appearance is maintained at all times. A flexible approach to duties is required as you may be required to carry out overtime when the schedule dictates and on occasion stay away from home to provide cover.
•Driving senior personnel on Government business; this will require an excellent knowledge of the Scottish road network.
•You will be required to provide a professional secure chauffeuring service to all our customers, this includes providing support to your customers by taking messages and responding in the appropriate manner, offering travel advice, sharing knowledge with your customers and colleagues, and assisting with luggage.
•Forward planning of journeys is essential to ensure official vehicle arrives on time for collections and customers are transported in a safe and comfortable manner.
•You will be responsible for your allocated vehicle, maintaining it in a clean and roadworthy condition. This will include undertaking daily vehicle inspections and ensuring that any faults are reported to the fleet managers immediately.
•You will be responsible for accurately completing vehicle log sheets and job sheets. You will also assist in transporting of vehicles to and from suppliers for service and repairs.
